Accuris SmartGlow DNA Stains

Accuris SmartGlow DNA stains replace ethidium bromide with a safer, non-mutagenic formulation that does not require special waste disposal methods. SmartGlow binds dsDNA, ssDNA, and RNA, emitting green fluorescence detectable with both UV and visible blue light (465 nm) transilluminators. Two formulations are available: the pre-stain (E4500-PS) is added directly to molten agarose before casting at a 1:20,000 dilution (1 ml concentrate sufficient for 20 liters of gel); the loading dye (E4500-LD) is mixed directly with DNA samples as a 6× concentrated reagent (1 ml). Both formulations provide band sensitivity comparable to ethidium bromide while eliminating mutagenicity hazards. Compatible with Accuris SmartBlue transilluminators (E4000, E4101) and standard UV transilluminators. Store at 4°C; stable for 12 months.
